Here we go.....
Time to say Hello, time to say goodbye. Seems like a never ending circle when it comes to the military. One day your at a homecoming you've waited for a year to see, 5 months later your saying goodbye again.
When you see the military life in a marriage you will see constant roller coaster rides. If you hate roller coasters or constant change then this life isn't for you. It's a hard, heart wrenching life. one that brings loneliness, trust and constant need for finding new ways to keep the spark in your marriage when there is constant distance.
After returning home from a year deployment in August, Moving in October across the U.S. and in the middle of buying a home. Keith yet again has to pack up, and head for a training he has dreamed of for many years. My heart pulls to keep him home, but yet it has a peace that God is directing him to a place he has longed for. We miss him when he's gone, and he misses so much when he's gone. With seperation comes growth in every member of this family,And growth isn't always easy. Actually it's one of the hardest thing to happen in most areas in our lives. When we grow quickly in adolences we have what is called Growing pains. The same happens when growth happens in our lives; I call it life's growing pains.
So this time around I figured I would keep a daily log on how we continue to spark our marriage while separation is occurring. I am starting " The Love Dare" today, a 40 day journey on fireproofing my marriage. My marriage is strong, but without constant working, and learning keith over again each day, month and even year it will become just a marriage not a loving, growing, thriving being in our lives and hearts.
I will blog every day what I've understood on this daily journey and you will get to watch and enjoy with me as God continues to grow a marriage that a military life frequently destroys. The 2 books I will be going trough will be " The Love Dare" by Stephen and Alex Kendrick, and " the 10 best decisions a couple can make" by Bill and Pam Farrel.
ENJOY!! =)
